Birgit Pferschy-Seper:

Birgit Pferschy-Seper received her degree in viticulture from the viticultural school in Klosterneuburg. After the graduation she did internships in California and South Africa, 1990 she returned to the family winery in Austria.

In 2004 she overtook the role of the head winemaker from her mother Margarete Pferschy, extending the tradition of female winemakers to a fourth generation.

In the eight hectares of vineyards only natural fertilizer is used. Her favorite varietal is Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc), which is a full-bodied white wine, in the Burgundy style. It grows very well in the Thermenregion, the so-called “Burgundy of Austria.”

She further focuses on Zierfandler and Rotgipfler varietals, which are a specialty in the Lower Austrian Thermenregion.
