The Spätburgunder or Blauburgunder, called Pinot Noir in French, is an important, very high quality grape variety and is one of the finest red wines in the world. In Austria it is represented in almost all wine-growing regions and is becoming increasingly important. It is the classic red wine of the cooler wine-growing regions.

With high maturated grapes and skilful vinification Pinot Noir can produce high-quality, storable wines. Its rather light in color, the typical fragrance is subtle and reminds of berries. The wine is unmistakable due to the velvety presence on the palate and the light ruby.

Recommended to:

game dishes with fresh mushrooms in the cream with “Spätzle” or with unusual exotic dishes such as Moroccan couscous
